Prestigious date for dancersMORE than 40 young dancers from Emma’s Academy of Dance & Drama have performed at a prestigious dance venue. The youngsters, who mostly hail from Aldershot, performed at the “International Home of Dance” Sadler’s Wells Theatre on Easter Monday. Taking part in “The Stars In Our Eyes”, a theatre show for young performers staged by Mardi Gras Productions, the group performed two original dance routines and joined the full company for dance finale. Pupils from London branches of the Academy joined them, making the 61-strong troupe the largest in the show. The show was hosted by TV star Bonnie Langford. The troupe’s first routine was a take on the “Born to Hand Jive” dance-off routine from Grease complete with 1950s costumes. The second was a piece of high-energy Freestyle featuring a variety of dance styles and performed in urban camouflage costume. Call 08452 600181 or visit www.emmasacademy.co.uk
