Writer launches poetry book

NORTH Hampshire writer and poet Mary B Lyons recently launched her publication of funeral and bereavement poetry, The Lonely Shade, in Farnborough.
Fellow writers, family and friends attended the event with guest of honour, Kelly Chambers, Rushmoor Council’s manager of crematoria and cemeteries.
Mary’s booklet of 37 poems addresses all kinds of loss and bereavement and is inter-faith with plenty to appeal to atheists, humanists and the undecided. The CD has numbered tracks for playing at the funeral venue or for quiet listening at home.
Mary says that writing for the bereaved is important because grief doesn’t end with the funeral service and can last a lifetime. She realised there was a shortage of appropriate material for expressing sorrow, reading at funerals and finding words to help and comfort the bereaved.
The booklet and audio CD, can be bought from  www.wordpower.u-net.com, with a proportion of proceeds going toCruse Bereavement Care
