THEY KNOW IT’S ALL OVER: Pupils from St Peter’s Junior School complete the one-mile run in aid of Sports Relief

PUPILS from a Yateley school strapped on their trainers to raise cash for Sports Relief.
The children from St Peter’s Junior School, in Stilwell Close, Yateley, ran a one-mile fun run, raising almost £600.
The youngsters raised money through sponsorship and through selling red and white Sports Relief socks.
All the money raised for Sports Relief goes to projects in the UK and abroad aimed at helping people in need.
Chrissie Bartlett, school secretary, said: “It went really well, the kids all had a fabulous time. The like to do anything for charity so they are well up for it.”
The school has this week been celebrating another sporting success.
At a recent skipping workshop, pupil Alice Coombes was introduced to Double Dutch skipping.
During her first go at the skill, which involved hopping over skipping rope that travels in two directions, she skipped an amazing 1,037 skips.
Mrs Bartlett said her score had been entered into a national skipping challenge, where she is currently top of the table.
No other entry has come anywhere near Alice’s entry.
Mrs Bartlett said: “She’s a very fit young lady.
