Run event attracts 120

Nearly 120 people of all ages, including a few in fancy dress, ran in the annual Camberley Fun Run held at Frimley Lodge Park on Sunday, March 9.
Fortunately, the event fell during a lull in the bad weather hitting the country at the moment, so there was ideal running weather on what turned out to be a pleasant morning.
The winner was Richard Calder who ran the 3K in 9 minutes 34 seconds. Everyone who finished the race received a medal and a certificate, presented by Barbara Farrell, Honorary Vice-President of Camberley Athletics Club.
Invaluable assistance was given by students from Farnborough Sixth Form College who helped organise the event as part of their course in leisure and event management.
That experience will be put to the test at their own race event being held on March 31.
Camberley Athletics Club is open to children from school Year 6 upwards and covers track and field events, and also cross country. More details on joining the club, and on future club events, can be obtained from the website – www.camberleyathletics.org.uk
