Girls get sporty to raise funds

Pupils at St Nicholas’ School in Church Crookham raised the fantastic sum of £500 for Sport Relief on Friday by bringing in £1 to wear their favourite sports kit.
They donned football kits, wet suits, ski suits and even kayaking gear in aid of this charity which uses the money to help vulnerable people living in very difficult situations both at home in the UK and in the world’s poorest countries.
Junior and senior pupils managed to score over 7,000 netball goals in one day and on Monday keen runners aimed to raise even more money by doing a 100-mile run, in total, around the school cross country course.
“Everyone had great fun getting involved in Sport Relief.  The girls really enjoyed rising to the challenge of scoring all those goals,” said director of sport Brenda Green.
